I like this one. Especially the whistling. Not sure about the saxophone bit in the middle though. But nice work fellas. 7.5/10
An honest punter. Gor bless you guv.
you can so watch this at thecryptsessions.com
Ha! You so can, Mikey.
Off to kilt land this monday, so this ditty has a special resonance. Bigish word resonance. Wonder what it means. Thanks for a great song, Billy. You da man.
Mark
@Mark
‘Special resonance?’ Ha! That sounds like The Jerk’s Special Purpose. Speaking of which, have a gander at this:
ManorMouse – You Belong To Me from knuckle.tv on Vimeo.
That’s Luke Brighty from Matthew Neel’s band playing slide guitar. You can see more of them in Matty and Ricky’s TheCryptSessions.com.
Ta for your kind words, Mark, and have a successful trip across the border. Are you filming?
The Baron
Love this one, Billy! I like the sax, myself. More of the vocals at the end could be good, I think…
great song.
Thanks Marty! Your point about the outro is duly noted. You’ve also kicked off our first NEW WEEKLY DEMO debate:
To Bb sax or not to Bb sax? That is the question (it’s actually an Eb sax, but details schmetails).
What do the rest of you think?
No sexy sax? This could result in no dress lifting. Get it on the album, with the sax, I say.
I love this happy Mouse tune!
Perish the thought, EllieMouse! V glad it meets your approval.

Having had the pleasure for performing this brilliant tune with Bill-bo a few times i can say that its a grower and catchy as bird flu.
Love it… Sax and all. X
@Jeremy
Woohoo! Thanks for that. I sense a pro-sax theme developing.
BMx
Love this one, especially the whistling- that’s a nice little melody. And the sax is HOT, very bowie-esque. Fab track!
LOVE the whistling AND the sax – imperative! Everyone loves a sax for goodness sake…
Was just watching a band here in Ibiza (5 piece with sax player). They have one track with whistling – and so there I was just saying that whistling was a really underused human instrument !!!
GREAT track! An album must have.
x
@Charity: cheers m’dear. Took Mae West’s advice – ‘Just put your lips together and blow’ and this is what came out.
@everybody else: You can hear some of Charity’s beautiful music HERE.
@Cat
Come back Roger Whittaker. All is forgiven (err….)
The sax revival starts here.
BMx
Funny, i liked it, go on guys
@Happyhardcore
Guten morgen und vielen dank für ihre bemerkungen. (Is that right? I translated it on the internet).
Stay happy.
MouseBoss.
Record this song ‘Just a little bit faster’
I like the solo ! Very Roxy.
Marvellous vocal sound sunshine.
You’ve hit the proverbial full square on the bonce with a wit-hammer, Flatsindagenham. We’ve actually been practicing the song a tad quicker for gigs and it works a treat. As for your other points, well, they made the old chest puff out a bit further. Thank you. Speaking of which, a friend of mine thought the song was Lift Your Chest, which would open the song up to all sorts of push-up bra advertising endorsements. Now why didn’t I think of that? Imagine the video! Mmmm. Pneumatics.
ello…
don’t worry bout the sax – it’s luverly
may I suggest you sing the ‘lift your dress a little bit higher’ line up an octave under the chorus whistles?
Just needs that lift in the chorus I reckon… great song nonetheless..
:)
Jamie
My fav of your new demo’s – upbeat and still humming it – keep the sax! Arabellax
@Jamie
Thankyou Jamie. Wise words indeed. I was speaking to our friend Eddie about you a couple of days ago. GOOD LUCK with the Bens Brother album and speak to you soon, I hope.
Billy
@Arabella
Great to hear from you Arabella and many thanks for your comment. I do believe the sax conundrum has been well and truly decided with a resounding victory for Roxy-esque horniness. HONK!

This is a gem, Billy-Mo. It grabbed me after 8 seconds and didn’t let go. I’ve played it again and it got better. And the 3rd time around it’s got me thinking about our crazy world and … funny thing… it’s got even better still. They call that “increasing marginal utility” and I think this is the beginning of a new theory for the world of behavioural economics. It’s specific to music, maybe. Or classic films that require multiple viewings for full appreciation. Of course it’s possible that after 100o listens normal theory of diminishing marginal utility resumes. I’m rambling. You’re Rambo. It’s the business like you said. This is a must. Sax is an inspired idea, although I thought at first that it was a kazoo (killer final libelous comment, sorry). 8.878315/10.
Maybe I’m in love with you? Or maybe I’m a liar? What’s it got to do with you?
@EddieP
Ha! Forget the Mercury. We’re aiming for a joint Nobel Prize in economics, although I’m leaving you to do the math (me Rambo. you Brain). Am intrigued by this Increasing Marginal Utility theory. I’d like to think it could explain my cake addiction, except that I’ve probably had well over 100 this year alone and my appreciation isn’t even close to diminishing.
BTW, don’t worry about the kazoo/sax mix-up. It could have been a whole lot worse. Over in the Death Clock comments I’ve been publicly accused of playing an Andean Pipes solo!

Ma: Oh dear!
Pa: Lift your tempo a little bit higher and PUBLISH, and more like it
@Ma and Pa
HaHA! That made me laugh a lot. Thank you.
Mmmmmmm yes, loving your work BillMow. I vote Yes! x
@Knelvis
Many thanks for your kind comment. By the way, I do believe that Knelvis is the best handle I’ve ever come across. I’m actually envious. Is your virtual surname Preevil? Oh I hope so.
BMx
6.5. i think the saxophone bit works quite well.
@Roman
Cheers Roman. Rest assured, we shall keep the saxumaphone on the real recording.
